3 Ingredient Natural Weed Killer

Living on 5 acres in the beautiful south has it’s  pros…and cons.

Pro: Everything is beautiful and GREEN! I never have to water my lawn or my plants. Mother nature does all of that herself here.

Con: Along with watering my beautiful plants, EVERYTHING else gets watered, including all the WEEDS!

I went out several days in a row and spent hours weeding just the front of my yard. That night there was a storm with a ton of rain. I am not lying when I say that the next day I went outside and found hundreds of new weeds that had showed up. I realized very quickly that I needed to come up with another way to kill the weeds or I was NEVER going to keep up with all of them.

Several friends recommended I just use Round Up and be done. The problem with that is, I’m in the early stages of pregnancy and didn’t feel good about spraying any toxic chemicals. I began my search for a natural weed killer.

I finally talked to a sweet lady who literally saved my life and my property. She gave me this recipe for a natural weed killer that is not only completely harmless but uses ingredients I already have in my house. It’s also CHEAPER than Round Up! WIN WIN!

Here are some pics BEFORE and 24 hrs AFTER I attacked my weeds with this blessed spray!

Stop the weeds from growing and kill them from overtaking your yard with this natural weed killer! Only 3 ingredients

Here are the ingredients for just over a gallon of spray. You can use a spray bottle if you just have a small area, but if you have a whole lot of weeds like me, you will want to invest in one of these lawn and garden sprayers. They are inexpensive and will save you a TON of time!

INGREDIENTS

-1 Quart of Vinegar (I just used Wal-Mart generic brand)

-2 cups Epsom Salt (can be found in the isles by the pharmacy)

-1/4 cup Dawn Dish soap

Spray bottle or Sprayer

DIRECTIONS

#1 – Use a medium-sized pan to heat up a quart of vinegar.

#2 – Add 2 cups of  Epsom Salt and stir with a wisk till it is all dissolved.

#3 – Add Dawn Dish Soap to your sprayer and SLOWLY pour in the vinegar mixture after it has cooled a bit. If your sprayer is a cheap one, don’t add the vinegar while it’s hot. Remember to pour slowly so you don’t get a lot of suds.

HOW IT WORKS

The vinegar draws moisture out of the plant thus killing it in the process. The sun is your best friend for this. It will magnify the power of the vinegar! Spray during the hottest part of the day and make sure there isn’t rain in the forecast for at least 24-48 hrs.

Some of the weeds may need a second application later to completely kill them off, but most of them will be dead and gone after several days. YAY!

Only 3 ingredients and a few minutes of your time and you have a natural weed killer that WORKS! What have you got to lose other than some pesky annoying weeds? Go for it!

THIS SPRAY WILL KILL PLANTS, SHRUBS, and TREES! This is very similar to how Roundup works. This is meant to spray weeds with no neighboring plants or trees.
